Paul Doherty is a songwriter, singer,  composer and multi-instrumentalist with ‘The Vals’.
 
He has released two albums, Sticks and Stones & Wildflower Way on Unique Records with The Vals. The most recent album ‘Wildflower Way’ was recorded solely by Paul at his home studio and comprises of a collection of songs that skip through many musical genre’s including pop, rock, folk, Indian influenced music and psychedelia, all accompanied by unique orchestral arrangements.
 
Paul has composed music for film and television as well as having the track ‘Yesterday Today’ featured in an episode of popular German soap opera Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten.
The number one show has peaked at 7 million viewers since its first airing in 1992.
 
Recent collaborations include the successful release ‘Look to the One’ which featured Henry McCullough, former guitarist / vocalist with Paul McCartney’s band ‘Wings’.
 
Paul has also contributed tracks to the official ‘Kinks’ tribute album in memory of former bass player Pete Quaife at the request of his charity foundation. The tracks appear alongside the likes of Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher of Oasis.
 
With The Vals, Paul has shared the stage with Jeff Beck, Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac, Mumford and Sons, Ocean Colour Scene, Turin Brakes, Ash, Bon Iver, Hawkwind, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Proclaimers  and played such venues as The Haldern Pop Festival, the 100 Club in London and the famous Ulster Hall to name a few.
