Laura Vane is often regarded as the ‘little lady with the big voice’, also described as ‘honey over sand paper' due to her full-bodied raspy tone and raw edge. Often likened to mainstream artists such as Amy Winehouse, Adele and Duffy by the press, Laura is at her core, a Jazz/Soul artist, who loves to dabble in many different styles of music.

Her long standing relationship with dance music has been an excellent springboard for writing in various genres, enabling Laura to exercise all of her influences. These range from Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald and Stevie Wonder to Chaka Khan, Michael Jackson, Kelis and Janelle Monae. Laura has been working in the music industry professionally and releasing her records for over a decade and she writes, records and performs her own material all over the globe from England and Europe, Asia and South America.

For the album ‘The Hardest Way To Make an Easy Living’ in 2006, Laura went in the studio and recorded backing vocals for The Streets for the first time. After touring across the UK and Europe with the band in 2007/8, she continued to appear on every album that followed. Eventually Laura co-wrote and recorded their second single ‘OMG’ from their final album ‘Computers and Blues’ in Spring 2011. Mike Skinner and Laura continued to collaborate and went on to release ‘We Are Go’ which featured in the most popular UK film release of  2011, The Inbetweeners.
Laura was one of the first musicians to perform with Gnarls Barkley at the time of their major success with their debut album, St Elsewhere in 2006 and was backing vocalist for an exclusive live version of Crazy on Top Of The Pops.

In 2009 Laura recorded the first album as a group Laura Vane & The Vipertones.
Laura Vane & The Vipertones is an English/Dutch nine-piece band at their fullest. They have continued to electrify fans, deejays, radio stations, critics, record collectors and bloggers all over the world with their authentic yet modern sound. Playing both intimate half-lit hot-spots and huge festival stages, support for the band has been strong from online music forums world wide to BBC Radio. 'Sugar Fix', their second album released 2011 flaunted a rich variety of styles and inspirations, and is a clear vibrant progression from the first album. Whilst winning competitions on national radio shows, they are quickly becoming a seriously infectious sound and their performances always draw large enthusiastic crowds. Their third album BodyQuake is due for release in April 2014, met with much anticipation. The band is steaming ahead with their journey in music, promising to keep it fresh and exciting.
